SkyWise Privacy Policy

No accounts, no personal data

SkyWise does not require an account and does not collect, store, or sell any personally identifiable information. There are no ads, no analytics SDKs, and no third-party trackers in the app.

Location

Your device location is used only to fetch the weather for where you are. Locations you save are stored on your device. When you enable notifications, the approximate coordinates of your chosen locations (rounded to about 1 km) are stored on our server solely so we can watch for severe weather and precipitation at those places. They are never linked to your identity.

Notifications

Push notifications are delivered through Google's Firebase Cloud Messaging using an anonymous device token. This token identifies your app installation, not you. Uninstalling the app invalidates the token, and our server automatically deletes it.

Weather data sources

Forecast requests are proxied through our own server to Open-Meteo, NOAA/National Weather Service, and RainViewer. Only coordinates are sent — never any identifier.

Data retention

Server logs and notification records are kept briefly for reliability purposes and automatically pruned. There is nothing to "delete on request" because nothing is tied to you.
